Jane grew up in Bedford, New York and attended Miss Porter's School, Farmington, Connecticut. Following graduation and further study in Florence, Italy, she joined Ted Bates Advertising Company in Manhattan. She then landed the job of her dreams at Newsweek Magazine where she stayed for nine years working various departments, first as a researcher, and eventually transferring to the Cover Department. Jane and her husband, Sandy and their children have lived in the area since 1977 and currently reside in Bedminster.
Jane's many accomplishments include acting board member of the South Eastern Center for Contemporary Art, "SECCA" in Winston Salem, NC. and board member at Far Hills Country Day School, in Far Hills, NJ., and spearheaded Friends of the Clarence Dillon Library, in Bedminster NJ from 2004-2006.
An active member of the Garden Club of America in Somerset Hills since 1982, Jane served as president from 2009-2011 as well as an active board member heading various garden club sponsored committees. Jane says that she has always loved Willowwood, knowing it well through the Garden Club, and enjoys walking the gardens with family and deeply appreciates its history and beauty.
