This redbud has really taken off after a few years in the ground! This cultivar is “Appalachian Red”. Unlike most cultivars of plants, this cultivar was not bred but instead was discovered along a roadside in Maryland. The bright pink flowers are quite bold compared to the typical purple flowering redbud.
